It was in Japan that kanban originated in Toyota as a method for controlling and optimizing production, but on its logic various systems of management, agile software development, and then lean business have developed over time. Over time, kanban has been developed for a large number of contexts and applications.
Venture Kanban is a powerful framework of tools and methods to specifically manage the workflow related to Venture Design and Venture Building. For this area we have developed and tested a number of standard and other customizable "components" to cover virtually all phases and areas of Venture.
Venture Kanban is perfect for startups and spin-offs, which are the ideal context of use-but it is equally effective for any "new venture" whether for profit or nonprofit, in microenterprises as well as SMEs and large public and private organizations.
Venture Kanban is also extremely useful and effective in open innovation activities and any co-design scenario aimed at producing new business ideas and problem solving sessions.
